Question by ~Noodles~: Does the new “energy efficient” light bulbs take a bit to “warm up?
i just bought my first one. so i dont know if it is my imagination or what. it seems really dim at first and then gets brighter.

If you mean those twisty fluorescent ones then yes they do take a bit to warm up. If you need full light I’d turn them on at least 15 minutes before hand.

Construction at the new million Urlas townhouses located in Ansbach,Germany is approximately at the half way point. These energy efficient Passivhauser or passive homes are German designed. When complete, each of the 22 homes will use approximately one-fourth the energy demands of a standard German home. To the Soldier living in them, there will be little visual different with the expection of a solar panel on each roof. The real difference is on the walls and in the windows. Extra thick insulation, triple-paned glass and innovative HVAC system makes these townhomes the most energy efficient homes in the Department of the Defense. As energy bills continue to rise looking at ways of keeping the energy bills down is important to most of us. Not only does it help us to save money being energy efficiencant over 40% of the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions actually come from energy we use every day both at home and also when we travel either to work or for pleasure.

Carbon dioxide emmisions (CO2) along with other gases are responsible for the greenhouse effect we are currently experiencing. Therefore it is important not only for ourselves that we attempt to be more energy efficiecant but for future generations including our children and grand children.
